What to see - Mallorca part 2...

Sunday, June 18, 2017

Hi all! I would like to start this Sunday by wishing: Happy Father's Day to all amazing men standing strong behind their ladies! Do not forget to blow them 1000 kisses as they really deserve it. And now I am ready to share another traveling tip and I hope you are sitting comfortly.

Day 2 - trip to Cap de Formentor and Pollensa

On our way to north of the island we have stopped in the little town that did not look very welcoming at first. Well, the crazy dog barking in the middle of the street without any sign of his owner was not a good first impression. Nobody was harmed as I am a real dog lover, but we had to take a different alley. As we approeched the first signs of the center, we found out that Pollensa has lot more to offer than we thought.

Narrow streets of Pollensa - beware of hungry dogs :)
On our way to Placa Major and Nostra Senyora Del Angels church
Before you climb all those 350+ steps to Calvari Church make sure to leave your baby stroller down, local girls are the best and they will keep an eye on it. If you have enough breath make sure to enjoy the beautiful views and please do not touch the cactus unless you want to have hundreds of little prickles in your fingers. (My mom could write a book about this.)

Don't you dare to touch it!
In case you are tired from the Calvari walk make sure to stop at LA ASTRERIA for the best cakes ever. My favorite was the lime cake and my hubby loves the chocolate one, if you have some sprare time make sure to check the gallery on the floor. Speaking of galleries you can find Dionis Bennassar museum in Pollensa. My fridge is newly decorated with 2 of the Bennassar's paintings on postcards, but you can also buy some posters if you'd like to.

Way to Gothic style monastry and Roman bridge
We've spent here more time than we wanted so the visit of Puerto de Pollensa was a quick one. We wanted to get to Cap de Formentor before the sunset. If you get to the lookup point and stop to enjoy the spectacular views, make sure to get out from the car and climb all the way up. It takes like 3 minutes and the views are amazing. Unfortunately the twilight pictures are not as amazing as the reality, so just use your imagination.

This is a MUST have cake/ go for chocolate or lime (lime is TOP)
Cap de Formentor also know as "Meeting point of the winds" is really worth its name. If you ever get there, you will understand why. The 13,5km road which runs from the port to cap de Formentor was built by italian engineer Antonio Parietti. The final stop was the lighthouse on the end of the road.

Čaute všetci! Rada by som začala nedeľu venovaním: Všetko najlepšie ku Dňu otcov všetkým skvelým mužom, ktorí stoja za svojimi dámami! Nezabudnite ich poriadne vypusinkovať, pretože si to jednoznačne zaslúžia.

(Moja mamka by o tom vedela napísať knihu.)
Tired but happy me

Cesta z prístavu k majáku má 13,5km a postavil ju taliansky inžinier Antonio Parietti. Poslednou zastávkou bol už spomínaný maják.
